Fall 2021 Update
Just in case anyone is looking around the internet for academic grant consulting, I am still here. The continuing global COVID-19 pandemic affects all in ways we will not understand for some time, grant consultants included especially those involved in COVID relief projects or social services. As someone who specializes in research grant consulting, I’ve had the privilege of working on the research side to find new drugs or treatments for COVID-19.
For the most part, as a retired college biology professor, I’ve had enough consulting work to keep me busy with my own clients or through subcontracting. I discontinued my newsletter some time ago as I no longer had the time for it and did not want to be a slave to self-marketing and social media platforms. Meanwhile, I am working to refresh and update the website for The Grant Science Lab. Super Blooms and Spring Research Opportunities

Spring is finally here after a rainy and cold winter in the Piedmont of the deep south. The azaleas, cherry trees, and dogwoods are beautiful, but they pale in comparison to the super bloom of wildflowers in California. Speaking as a native Californian, I am glad the drought is over, but frequent rain in Georgia is getting tiresome. As a girl, I remember taking a weekend drive with my parents and grandparents to see the flowers. I don’t remember the year or where we went, but I remember the car(s). It was either the 1961 Plymouth (push buttons instead of a gear shift) or the 1964 Ford Fairlane. That was a long time ago. Perhaps that trip started me on my career as a plant biologist.
New Year, New Grant Links
Just a few non-federal scientific research and similar grant opportunities due in late winter or early spring. For the past few years, I’ve attempted to provide this information with some regularity, but drop that ball along the way. Individual faculty and researchers may not have access or the time to search for foundation and more unusual grant proposal opportunities. Most of these are listed through The Foundation Center’s Philanthropy News Digest Bulletin, which arrives in my email inbox.
Meanwhile, it is time for some website housekeeping. WordPress and Genesis have new versions, and I need to update accordingly. I’ll not be doing anything drastic, but likely will be tweaking appearance and function.
